I am a model turned photographer; a Modelographer. My passion for the art of photography grew as I dove into the world of model photography. The more I posed the more I wanted to understand everything from the other side of the camera. When a photographer made a comment about a camera setting or lighting, I wanted to know why and how it worked. I observed others and am proud of the knowledge I have gained as a self-taught artist. As soon as I started doing model photography I was hooked. I quickly realized that I actually enjoyed the photography side more than the modeling side. I loved creating art and working with people.
Being on both sides of the camera gives me a unique perspective on creating an image. It allows me to have an understanding and be able to help out where many photographers may fall short.
While I tend to like stylized, vintage tones and unique black and white edits, the simpler commercial photography is also of interest. I know I can deliver solid results to clients who want basic portraits or stylized art pieces...or both!
I'm very laid back and easy to work with. I like to shoot efficiently but at a relaxed pace. I do not over-shoot. While some photographers may shoot 500 images in a session and pick the best 75, I prefer to shoot 150 and have 125 of those be solid. Quality over quantity.
I am an on location photographer. I choose to shoot in unique surroundings rather than cookie cutter studios. I greatly prefer the outdoors, but when weather is not cooperating, I'm always willing to come to a client's home. Why not get photos of your family in the place your family shares it's memories? And even for those just looking for basic headshots, all I need is a plain wall to make it work :)
